Here are several basic techniquesyou can use that will increase your luck in poker. Lack of Fundamentals- Bottom line, understand the game. Know what play to make in any situation you are in. Do your best to read your opponent and act upon it. AT the end of the day, you can't fault your self for playing the hand the "correct" way even if you lose. Going on Tilt- If you carry the frustration with you from one hand to the next..you need to find another way to spend your time. Let it go..don't get emotional or personal. Whenever you try to single out a person at the table to knock out because you lost a hand to them or feel emotional towards them..it always come back to bite you. Chasing Cards: Do not chase your cards. For example if you have overcards to the board and you decide to chase it with nothing. Chances are the other player betting has you beat. So give it up and go to the next hand. Calling and Betting Too Much: The main question is " Are you in too many hands?" Some players have a habit of betting and calling and ignoring all the mathmatical odds. Playing too many hands will eventually lead you to bad luck. You cannot expect to win in the long term if you play a majority of your hands and continue to bet loosely. Betting loosely is a style of play that can work,but it also can get you into trouble if you are playing too many hands. You need to mix up your play. Other players will notice that you don't have the best hand and call you down just to see what you have.
