HighHeels Poker Tour: First Tournament Final Table

That's me at the final table of the first ever HighHeels Poker tournament. This was their inaugural event and I came in second. I won $2600 and got a two page article in Poker Pro Magazine November 2007 edition. It was a great tournament with 103 ladies.

I enjoyed playing in a all ladies tournament because it has been a while since I played in one. I find that focussing on an all women game is great fun and a good education.

Lauren Failla is the CEO of High Heels Poker. She started this company about a year ago and has tournaments books all over the US in 2008. She starts the year off in Tunica, MS in Janaury with the WSOP Circuit event.

If you are on the east coast, High Heels poker has alot of tournaments that are women only.

So why is it so different playing in a all women's tournament than when there are women and men at the table?

I think it feels different. At a women's tournament the table atmosphere usually tends to be more friendly and casual. Women tend to talk more and share more. This can be used to your advanatage if they are talking about poker. But in general, women tend to want to share more about themselves. On a table where there are women and men, the atmosphere tends to be more intense.
